Reasons Why Crossgates Is One of The Most Upcoming Areas of Leeds
One of the most commonly asked questions we get is “What’s the most upcoming area of Leeds?” We’ve been asked this time and time again by people wanting to invest their hard earned money wisely. Although the answer changes frequently, with our experience and understanding of the local market, we’re able to identify areas on the up.
In 2019, our focus lays firmly with Crossgates and by extension, East Leeds. In this article, we’re taking a look at 5 of the main factors which tell us that the area is going from strength to strength and why more people than ever want to move to Crossgates.
Mark Manning, Managing Director of Manning Stainton says, “I get asked about up-and-coming areas all the time and right now I’d say Crossgates is a place that’s on the up and I think we’ll see prices there rise substantially over the coming years.”
There are big investments in infrastructure
Crossgates already has a train station, with great links to Leeds City Centre and York. Although this isn’t unique to Crossgates, it means that people working in the city centre are looking to Crossgates because of the easy commute. What’s more, we’re seeing significant investment in the surrounding transport infrastructure, namely the East Leeds Orbital Road. Mark says “This is one of the biggest infrastructure schemes Leeds has seen for several decades and it is one that will massively improve transport links to and from Crossgates and the surrounding areas.”
Property Developers are focusing on the area
Over the next few years, there are plans to build around 5,000 new homes in Crossgates. There’s a host of market-leading developers targeting the area, including Avant, Strata and Bellway. The presence of such affluent, established and respected developers makes sure that the new build homes being built will be high quality.
Businesses are investing in the region
There’s been a flurry of businesses moving into the area recently. Mark comments “All successful suburbs need a good centre and the changes happening to some of the establishments in and around the Crossgates Shopping Centre are a key sign that the area is regenerating.”Who could ignore the opening of The Springs shopping centre a short distance from Crossgates? The multi-million-pound shopping centre, which opened in 2018, brought a range of businesses, including Next, Gino D’Acampo’s Restaurant, The Odeon among others.
Property values are rising
The average price of property in an area increases comparatively rapidly if it’s on the brink of growth. We’ve seen this in Crossgates, and as more and more people look to move into the area, competition for homes becomes fierce. Small property developers are drawn to the area, and as they set about modernising homes, the overall quality of property in the area improves and subsequently drives an increased level of interest in the area. Take a look at some of these great potential investment properties currently on the market in Crossgates.
It's a prime location for First Time Buyers
The number of First-Time Buyers registering with us has increased dramatically over the past few years. But what does this have to do with Crossgates? There are few areas in Leeds where there’s such a diverse range of properties available. As well as family homes, there are properties suitable for First-Time Buyers. As a consequence, there’s that added level of interest, which when combined with the other factors we’ve mentioned makes it easy to see why Crossgates is the next property hotspot in Leeds.Manning Stainton Crossgates | 62 Austhorpe Rd, Leeds LS15 8DX | Tel: 0113 260 6644 |
