Half Term Activities In and Around Wetherby

We’ve looked at half term activities in Leeds and Wakefield, now its Wetherbys turn. There is plenty going on in and around Wetherby for you and the kids to get stuck into this October. From a huge list of Halloween inspired events at Stockeld Park to a Family fun swim sessions at the local leisure centre, there really is something for everyone.

It goes without saying Stockeld Park is a must-visit. On the doorstep of Wetherby Stockeld Park offers a huge list of activities to get stuck into during the school holidays and this half term is no exception. There are some fantastic events going on at Stockeld for children and adults of all ages alongside all their usual exciting attractions!

Witches in the Forest
The hunt for witches starts in no other than the enchanted forest. This spell bounding event is the perfect event for the whole family. Between 11-5 pm follow your trail map in the search for some real-life witches and help them cast their Halloween spells!

Pumpkin Carving
What Halloween is complete without a pumpkin? Head to Stockeld to pick your very own pumpkin then explore your creative side at one of their carving sessions available on the run-up to Halloween. The child-friendly sessions have stencils to give you that little helping hand to create a masterpiece to take home!

Monster Mash Up
The atrium at Stockeld is the place to be to enjoy a 30-minute spooky panto, filled with singing, dancing and all-round entertainment fit for the whole family. The showings begin at 12 pm, 1 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm so there is plenty of opportunities to bag a front-row seat.

Disney inspired swim – a combination of Disney and swimming… What more could you want! Head to Wetherby Leisure Centre for their Disney inspired family swim sessions, the whole family is welcome for the 45-minute sessions; a great way to learn new skills and have a great time.

Half Term Holiday club @ Harewood House

New to 2019, the Half Term Holiday Club at Harewood house is not to be missed. We all know how popular it is with kids at the best of times and with the jam packed week of activities going on this October Harewoods holiday club is guaranteed to be a hit. From Minibeast Mayhem; a day of sculpture making and bug hunting to a spooky Halloween themed trail. The daily activities run from 10am – 4pm with a whole host of crafts, games and activities to make a day the kids won’t forget.

Fright Water Valley @ Light Water Valley

Although a short journey away from Wetherby, Fright Water Valley is definitely worth the distance. The popular theme park Light Water Valley has had a spooky makeover this half term. Don’t panic there is something for the whole family, get into the spirit of the season and dress to impress for the fancy dress competition or get truly spooked in the live scare maze; but be warned it’s not for the faint-hearted!  Finish the day off right with their spectacular firework finale as well as riding their usual hair raising rides!
