What's On In Leeds This Weekend

Well, what a summer it was! There were tonnes of events, ranging from the weird to the wonderful. Now that the summer holidays are over, there are still a number of spectacular sounding events on offer. Never mind the holiday blues, these events are the perfect way to break up the first couple of weeks of the autumn term.

A Midsummers Night's Dream - Carriageworks Theatre

Shakespeare’s most popular comedy is coming to Leeds. The production will see multi award winning team of Northern Spark Theatre and Bite My Thumb with a magical 2017 tour.

“On a moonlit evening during the summer of love, four young lovers find themselves wrapped in the arms of an enchanted forest where poppies grow and fairies rule.”

The production promises to be fantastic and tickets are £12 (£10 concession)

Hidden Temple Newsam Tour

Horsforth

One of Leeds most famous houses, well known for its jam packed calendar of unique events, Temple Newsam is opening its doors to the public in a previously unseen way, allowing visitors to learn how the servants got around, through the intricate system of cellars and tunnels.

Women, Work and War – Leeds Industrial Museum

For people interested in history, there is a spectacular exhibition at Leeds Industrial Museum, which is looking at the role of women during the First World War. Being one of the defining periods, which has shaped the course of women's rights in the UK, this is an excellent exhibition, and an invaluable opportunity to educate children and adults alike on a significant turning point in the history of British society.

Leeds International Beer Festival – Leeds Town Hall

Now heading into its 6th year, from 7th – 10th September, Leeds Town Hall will be taken over by a myriad of talented brewers, who will come to exhibit their craft beers.
