The famous Kirkstall Abbey was founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks. Situated just a few miles outside of the city centre, Kirkstall offers efficient links to the city centre and surrounding suburbs. The A65 road runs through Kirkstall offering bus links to Leeds, Guiseley, Yeadon and Ilkley amongst many stops in between. The introduction of Kirkstall Forge Train Station in 2016 has enabled easy access to Leeds and Bradford, whilst Headingley Station is just a short distance from Kirkstall offering efficient links to Harrogate and York.
