Getting to Know Pride & Produce

Whether you’re after a delicious slice of cake, or fancy tucking into one of Leeds’ best breakfasts to start the day – there’s something to be said for visiting Pride & Produce in Garforth.

We recently included it in a “Best Restaurants in Garforth” article, but we wanted to find out more about this marvellous business in the heart of Garforth that we've heard so much about. So, we got in touch with the owner’s for a short interview to find out more. What's more, Pride and Produce are part of the Manning Stainton local card. Here's what we found.

Who owns Pride & Produce?

Bianca and Hannah Cawkwell

If you had to describe your business in three words, what would they be?

Made with love.

Whats special about pride and produce

We opened the doors to our café in April 2017. Our aims are:

-To provide accommodating and accomplished customer service;
-To serve knock-out food and drinks using the best local produce we can source and all prepared in house
-To create a warm, friendly and engaging space for our customers to enjoy

What’s your favourite item your menu?

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. We do an absolutely banging Full English Breakfast (veggie and vegan options available too). Our FEB showcases the fab produce we can get from Main St and the immediate local area; Firth’s bacon and sausages, Scarcroft free-range eggs, Cryer & Stott cheese and our home-made smoky beans and sweet potato falafel using veg from the Greengrocer to name but a few. We’ve just been included in Leeds List’s “Best Breakfast in Leeds”.

Why should people who haven’t visited yet come and say hello?

Because the vast majority of people who come for the first time, come again and again and again……….wouldn’t you want to be part of that?

What are your plans for the future?

We’ve spent this, our first year, listening to what our customers like and what they want.  We have so many exciting plans, but we’ll keep them as a surprise for now!

Do you have any regular events/meetups that people can get involved with, if so when are they?

The Summer Socials will be making a welcome return soon. At the end of each month during the summer, we throw a party in the evening. No tickets required. We have a DJ or live music, a special evening menu, a great range of craft ales and a full bar. They were really popular last year and we can’t wait to get them up and running again. Follow our social media for updates on this.

Finally, what do you love the most about Garforth?

The sense of community and the support that the good people of Garforth show for all the independent business. As a small family-run business, we are nothing without the wonderful support we get from our customers.
