7 Places to Pumpkin Pick in Yorkshire 2021

Summer is over, the leaves are turning brown, and the days are getting colder, this only means one thing: Halloween is here! Get yourselves ready for the spooky season with a day out to a local pumpkin patch with your family this half term break. We have done the research for you and here is a list of 7 of the best pumpkin picking spots in Yorkshire.

Manning Stainton

Pick Your Own, Horsforth


Horsforth Pick Your Own at Kemps Farm in Horsforth runs from the 8th-27th October. Tickets include a tractor and trailer ride to the pumpkin fields where you will find a variety of different types of pumpkin available. Once you’ve found the perfect pumpkin, use their carving kits to prepare pumpkins on site whilst you enjoy some of the refreshments on offer. Booking is essential with a small entrance fee of £2 at peak times so do so via their website to avoid disappointment!

Yorkshire Pumpkins, York


Yorkshire Pumpkins at Lodge Farm in Cundall opens from the 16th-17th of October for an opening weekend and is then open everyday from the 21st-31st October. Booking is essential here for a small £1 fee which is deductible from the price of your pumpkin, so be sure to head to their website to get your slot booked.

Birchfield Farm, Harrogate


Birchfield Farm’s Pumpkin Festival is open from the 2nd-31st October everyday from 10am-4pm. Here there is no entry fee so feel free to simply turn up, browse the pumpkins on offer and pay for what you pick. Whilst you’re there, why not make a day of it and pay a small £5 entry to visit the farm animals, enjoy activities, a maize maze and carving barn.

Berts Barrow Pumpkin Patch, Hillam


Bert’s Barrow Farm in Hillam, just East of Leeds is open Thursday to Sunday 9am-4pm from the 1st of October. There is no booking or entrance fee required so why not go down and browse their range of pumpkins of different shapes, sizes and colours and find your perfect pumpkin. To make the most of Bert’s Barrow be sure to check out their activity barn which includes pumpkin carving for only £3.50 per child.

Piglets Adventure Farm, York


Piglet’s Adventure Farm is open every weekend in October and then every day from the 23rd-31st October. There are over 10,000 pumpkins available in a range of shapes, sizes and colours so plenty to choose from! There’s a lot going on, with a pumpkin carving tent, two magic shows a day, the mysterious maze, farm animals, crazy golf and a zipline. Make sure to get the kids dressed up for a chance to win a free child annual membership in the daily fancy dress competition. Booking is essential so be sure to follow the link to the website.

Stockeld Park, Wetherby


The Halloween Adventure at Stockeld Park runs from the 23rd-31st October. The park requires pre-booking online and every paying child takes home a free pumpkin. Stockeld Park offers far more than just pumpkin picking, with entry to the whole Adventure Park included with the ticket fee. This means there’s enough on offer to keep the family entertained all day making it a great option if you’re in the area!

Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley


Pumpkin picking at Cannon Hall Farm runs from 16th-31st October. Once booked online you and the family can enjoy all day farm admission plus a free pumpkin for every paying child. Spend the day watching the kids take part in themed activities, decorating their pumpkins and playing in the onsite soft play area. Be sure to get the kids dressed up as well with daily prizes being awarded to those with the best costumes!
