Garforth is a popular suburb of Leeds and is conveniently located a similarly equal distance from central Leeds, south-west of York and the north of Wakefield. Garforth's close proximity to motorway networks and its large array of amenities attract many families to the area. The popular suburb benefits from 1 large high school rated Good by Ofsted alongside 8 primary schools; 4 of which have been labelled Outstanding and the rest considered Good! Horsforth High School has an additional Sixth Form, giving higher education to those aged 16-18. Moortown is situated between Roundhay and Gledhow and within close proximity to Chapel Allerton and Alwoodley, as a result, there is a wide range of schools in the area. Within a 3-mile radius of Moortown, there are around 20 primary schools to choose from, with 10 of those rated as Outstanding in the most recent Ofsted reports. Moortown and surrounding areas are also home to a number of large secondary schools offering education to ages 11-18 including the Independent Grammer School at Leeds in Alwoodley. When you think Headingley you will most likely think students! Students do account for a large proportion of the Headingley population due to the location of Leeds Becketts University and the University of Leeds. However, thinking a little earlier down the education line Headingley and surrounding areas also offer a number of good schools.
