2023 Community Round-Up
Community engagement is an integral aspect of our business, reflecting one of our core values. In the year 2023, we took great pride in supporting over 120 local events, charities, schools, and organisations. Our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve is always a big focus for our teams and during the last 12 months we have donated over £98,000.
We support a variety of different projects and events across our community fund, all to support vital local causes in our communities. Here is a list of some of our favourite community initiatives we’ve supported over the last 12 months.
Meanwood Playground Appeal
Our Headingley branch donated £1000 towards Meanwood Playground to help improve the facilities in the play area. This along with support from the Veolia Environmental Trust and Leeds City Council helped to rejuvenate the playground, providing a haven for local families.
They had a grand reopening in summer and the park is now open for the public to finally enjoy.
Amaranth Under 10 Girls
Our Crossgates team were the main kit sponsor for Amaranth u16’s girls' team this year. We’re proud to say they had an amazing season, winning the league! A few of the girls have been selected to represent the league side and selected for trials at local academies.
SNAPS Superhero Challenge
Our Beeston branch proudly supported the SNAPS Superhero Challenge in September! It was a fun-filled day and we took part in their first Corporate Challenge. Our superhero team managed to raise over £300 for SNAPS, and this will go towards the amazing services they provide for local children and families.
Macmillan Coffee Cup Relay
As part of our ongoing support for Macmillan Cancer Support, we organised a relay event which coincided with our annual Macmillan Coffee Mornings which we aptly named the Coffee Cup Relay.
The premise of the event was simple; our team were to walk, run or cycle between all of our branches across the Northern Estate Agencies Group. We covered over 180 miles and raised over £15,000 through sponsorship and by hosting coffee mornings.
Christmas Light Switch Ons
Several of our branches supported local Light Switch on events this year! Our Wetherby branch sponsored Wetherby Christmas Lights and hosted games for everyone to get involved in, with a chance of winning prizes.
Our Guiseley team were the main sponsor for Guiseley Christmas Lights, this is always an amazing event with a great turnout every year. The money raised goes towards the running costs of the event, as they take over Town Gate in Guiseley every November!
The Pudsey office also supported Pudsey Lights for the 6th
year running, another great local event.
Christmas Gift Collections
At Christmas time it can be particularly hard on families who are already struggling. That’s why Manning Stainton supported two gift appeals this year: the Dunelm’s Christmas Initiative and the Leeds Children’s Charity Christmas Gift Appeal. Our Head Office donated an array of presents for Dunelm, which were then distributed to local schools, care homes and refugees.
Our branches teamed up to donate 100’s of presents, toys, games and toiletries for Leeds Children's Charity appeal, to bring smiles to children and families across Leeds.
