St.Oswalds Church dates back to the 13th century. St. Oswald's was the venue of choice for the marriage of Patrick Bronte & Maria Branwell who became parents to Emily & Charlotte Bronte the authors of Wuthering Heights & Jane Eyre.

Located in a prime position for easy access to the A65 means Guiseley is only a 30-minute drive away from Leeds and Bradford City Centres. Alternatively, both Guiseley & Apperley Bridge Train Stations give direct links to both cities making Guiseley an attractive location for commuters. Guiseley is also not short of bus routes connecting to nearby towns and villages.
Until the 18th Century Guiseley was predominantly a farming community. When the cottage based woollen industry arose in the Victorian times, Guiseley soon became more industrialised acquiring a railway in 1865 and a Town Hall in 1867.
