Things To Do

Whatever the occasion or day of the week, there is plenty to do in Farsley. Starting with a family fun day; Jackaboos in Sunnybank mills is a classic soft play centre, perfect for the kids to burn some energy. Heading just around the corner, The Rainbow Factory brings all the classic bedtime stories to life in a series of crafts and play workshops. If you’re a football fan, make sure you support local team Farsley Celtic at their home ground Throstle Nest Stadium for a great afternoon of football. Finally, if it’s an afternoon in the sun you’re wanting, make a trip to Hainsworth Park or Westroyd Park and take in the fresh air.

With bus links as regular as every 5 minutes and a short 15-minute car journey to your favourite city centre bars- Farsley is the perfect location to enjoy the city, whilst offering an escape to a quieter part of a town. If you work a little further afield Farsley is a prime location to access motorway networks including the M1 and the M62. Whilst the bus service is the main mode of transport in Farsley, New Pudsey station is only 1 mile away offering direct connections to both Leeds and Manchester!

History

A major part of Farsleys history dates back to the industrial revolution when Farsley became a hub for the manufacture of woolen cloth. The likes of the Hainsworth, Sunnybank and Springfield Mills were all formerly home to textiles production helping industrialize the village.

Eating & Drinking

For a small village, Farsley Town Street is filled with restaurants and bars. If you’re in the mood for pizza Grumpys is a must! If it’s brunch you’re after The Mill Kitchen next door will have something to satisfy. The Olive and Feta Greek restaurant is a firm favourite with Farsley locals, whilst the Croft Street Fisheries is the place to go for the Friday night favourite. For drinking, there is a choice of traditional pubs and modern bars including the popular Fleece and Number Thirty-Three.


Shopping

Farsley Town Street is where you will find the majority of Farsley's amenities. With a Co-op convenience store offering a good selection of groceries alongside a post office and independent grocers, Sutcliffe's keeps a sense of tradition in Farsley. If you’re looking to do a big shop, just a short drive up the road you’ll find Asda and Marks and Spencers at Pudsey Owlcotes whilst in Stanningley you’ll find a Lidl, Home Bargains and B&M.
