History
Collingham is a village civil parish that sits south east of Wetherby in West Yorkshire. The name Collingham was said to be developed in 1166 and comes from the old English ‘Collyngham’. The parish township of Collingham used to include the village of Compton, whose name was highlighted in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Collingham used to have a running railway line connecting Crossgates and Wetherby but was dismantled in 1965 and is now used as a path for walkers.
