Transport

Another selling factor for Calverley is its accessible transport links into the main cities, towns and surrounding villages. Calverley is situated just 10 miles outside of Leeds City Centre and 4 miles outside of Bradford, making it a great spot for commuters of either city. Buses are the main mode of transport with routes as regular as every 5 minutes. Although Calverley doesn’t have its own train station, both Apperley Bridge and New Pudsey Station are within close proximity, offering direct connections to Leeds and Manchester on a frequent basis with large car park facilities, again great for commuters.

    History

Calverley is an Ancient Parish in the West Riding of the county of Yorkshire. Historically, Calverley was a parish in the district of Bradford and the Morley Wapentake, but was incorporated into the municipal borough of Pudsey in 1937. There were plans to build ‘Calverley Cutting’, a straight road intended to replace the old winding packhorse way. This was part of a plan to develop luxurious residential properties in 1856, but was disputed by local residents and the plans failed.
