History

The historic water pump and stone water trough remain from medieval times and are the last remnants of the village which was once surrounded by medieval cottages. Like many small areas in the 19th century, they experienced a surge in population due to the growth of the textile industry.

Bramley is home to many local pubs, as well as being close to the city centre and surrounding towns. You can catch the latest football, rugby and cricket games at The Acorn. If you are after some retail therapy, you can hop on the 10-minute train to Leeds and indulge in the large selection of shops in the Trinity Centre and Victoria Quarter. Bramley has a 1960’s style concrete shopping centre with a post office, hairdressers and handy shops conveniently situated together.
