A few minutes up the road is Holt Park Active, a fantastic council run facility with multiple swimming pools, a 70 station gym and numerous sports classes for everyone to get involved. The best mode of transport from Adel is by bus, with good bus routes connecting Adel to Leeds City Centre and Otley frequently. The number 1 bus service also links to Holt Park as regularly as every 10 minutes; convenient for those looking to do their weekly shop in Asda. Whilst Adel is considered a countryside suburb, being less than 5 miles away from the city centre, the A660 makes for an easy commute for those who work in the city. In terms of access via rail, Adel is an equal 1 mile distance from both Headingley and Horsforth stations, connecting to Leeds, Harrogate and York.
Adel is situated near the site of a Roman fort, the ancient road from Tadcaster to Ilkley. Several Romano-British inscribed stones have been found in Adel, alongside a number of Anglo-Saxon stones, some of which are now on display in Leeds City Museum.

There are a few larger chain shops in the area including a Coop and a Post Office, whilst 2 minutes up to the road to Holt Park you’ll find a large Asda and other amenities.
